New documents on history of Far East added to Presidential Library's collection

During the IX Eastern Economic Forum, from September 3 to Semptember 6, 2024, the Presidential Library's collection Far East: The Point of Attraction, dedicated to Russia's most important and dynamically developing region, the Far East, was enriched with new documents.

The Cartographic Materials section offers digitized maps from the All-Russia Scientific Research Geological Institute's book depository. In total, the Presidential Library received 53 antique maps dating back to the 18th century. These materials are of interest not only for historians and geologists, but also for a wide range of readers.

The collection Far East: A Point of Attraction includes more than 1,500 items, including archival materials, travel studies, photographs, maps, and documents. It has sections such as Eastern Economic Forum, Port City Vladivostok, Far Eastern Federal DistrictHistory of the Far EastEconomicsInternational Relations, and Science, Education and Culture.

As part of the cooperation agreement between the Institute of History, Archaeology and Ethnography of the Peoples of the Far East and the Russian Academy of Sciences, signed last year at the Eastern Economic Forum, a dedicated section for the institute has been created on the Presidential Library's portal. The section, titled Institute of History, Archaeology, and Ethnography of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, is organized into two collections: Primorye Territory: Pages of History and Russian Academy of Sciences.

The Presidential Library's collection includes electronic books, periodicals, news reels, photographs, scientific films, educational films, abstracts of dissertations, archival documents, and materials on the history of Russian statehood, the theory and practice of law, and Russian as the official language of the Russian Federation. The electronic collections contains more than one million depository items.
