"Conversations about important things" in Regional Center of Presidential Library of Altai Territory devoted to events of the Second World War

As part of the extracurricular lesson "Important Conversations", specialists of the Regional Center of the Presidential Library, based on the Shishkov Altai Regional Universal Scientific Library, held an educational event dedicated to the events of World War II. The participants were first-year students of the Altai branch of the Financial University.

Marina Ponkrasheva, Co-chairman of the Regional Headquarters of the Regional Branch of the All-Russian Public Movement People's Frontline “For Russia”, Chairman of the Committee on Social Issues and Youth Policy of the Barnaul City Duma, member of the regional branch of the Russian Military Historical Society and the Russian Society Znaniye, addressed the audience.

The participants of the meeting were informed about the events related to the beginning of the Great Patriotic War and the heroic defense of the Brest Fortress. In addition, experts from the Regional Center of the Presidential Library in the Altai Territory presented the audience with a complex of digitized archival documents, films and photographic materials titled World War II in Archival Documents, which includes over 13,000 materials. These include maps, diagrams, periodicals, photographs and newsreels from January 1933 to December 1944. Thanks to the Presidential Library's portal, these materials are accessible from any location in the world.

At the conclusion of the event, students participated in an educational quiz that focused on key events from the Second World War and foreign policy activities during the pre-war period.
