Opening ceremony of master classes of "School of Russian Theater" took place in China

The opening ceremony for the master classes at the "School of Russian Theatre" was held at the venue of the Beijing Association of Literary and Artistic Figures, a joint project between Rossotrudnichestvo and the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts – GITIS.

Over the course of the week, more than 70 young Chinese artists will be trained in the fundamentals of dramatic sound, acting in musical theatre, sound engineering, and classical Russian ballet, in the best traditions of the national theatre school.

The welcome address of Yevgeny Primakov, the head of Rossotrudnichestvo, was read out by Yevgeny Demin, Deputy Head of the Public Diplomacy Department at Rossotrudnichestvo. Marina Kiryushkina, Vice-Rector for General Affairs and Project Management at the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts (GITIS), delivered a welcoming speech on behalf of Rector Grigory Zaslavsky. Ma Xinming, permanent deputy chairman of the Beijing Association of Literary and Artistic Figures, and Tatyana Urzhumtseva, Head of the Russian Cultural Centre in Beijing, also addressed the audience.

The center for remote access to information resources of the Presidential Library, which was opened in 2010 at the Russian House in Beijing, allows its guests today to get acquainted with the full range of collections in the electronic library fund.

Visitors to the Russian Cultural Center will find the Russian Language collection particularly interesting. This collection from the electronic library includes more than 1,100 rare archival documents, such as manuscripts, Russian writing monuments, archival files, scientific works, dictionaries, reference books, and textbooks, among other things.

Additionally, guests of the Russian House can explore materials about the history of relations between Russia and China through the Presidential Library's electronic collection titled Russia - China: History of Relations.
