Photo exhibition on cultural life of St. Petersburg presented in Bulgaria
The Russian House in Sofia hosted an exhibition titled Hermitage Nights. Night Petersburg, organized by the Russian House and the Nayden Gerov Commonwealth of Alumni of Russian and Soviet universities. The exhibition featured breathtaking photographs by Bulgarian photographer Nadezhda Likomanova-Zafirowa.
The images showcase the nightlife of the city and the interior of the Hermitage Museum. The idea for the exhibition came to the author while she was in St. Petersburg attending the XVIII International Media Forum for Young Journalists, Dialogue of Cultures, in May of this year.
In addition to the exhibition, the audience was treated to a documentary film directed by Ashot Jazoyan, titled Petersburg: Life in the City. The film depicts the city as a dynamic, multicultural hub where professionals live and shape its future, rather than an open-air museum.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Bulgaria, Eleonora Mitrofanova, was among the guests at the event.
The center for remote access to information resources of the Presidential Library, which was opened in 2017 at the Russian House in Sofia, provides its visitors with an opportunity to explore the diverse collections of the library's electronic collections.
The visitors of the Russian Center for Science and Culture may be interested in the Russian Language collection, which includes more than 1,100 rare archival documents, such as manuscripts, historical texts, archives, scientific works, dictionaries, reference materials, textbooks, and more.
Additionally, guests of the Russian House in Sofia can learn about the history of relations between Russia and Bulgaria through the electronic collection Russia - Bulgaria: the History of Relations, which is available at the Presidential Library.
