Second Baltic Charity Ball held in St. Petersburg
On October 5, 2024, the Second Baltic Charity Ball was held in St. Petersburg, marking the International Music Day. The event took place in the Column Hall of the Presidential Library, located at Senate Square, 3.
This was the second time that the Baltic Charity Ball had been held in the city on the Neva, following the successful first event in 2022, which was supported by the Committee for Culture of St. Petersburg.
Not surprisingly, the Baltic Ball was chosen to be held in this beautiful city, founded by Peter the Great on the shores of the Baltic Sea. St. Petersburg has long been known for its luxurious balls, with traditions dating back to the Petrovsky Assemblies.
More than 300 guests attended the event, including representatives from the public, business, science, and culture, as well as ballroom dance enthusiasts from various countries.
The Baltic Ball, a traditional ball in the Viennese style, was officially opened by 29 couples of debutants - the best representatives of young people in St. Petersburg who had passed a competitive selection process, received dance training, and mastered the fundamentals of ballroom etiquette.
The evening continued with a gala concert featuring music by famous Russian and international composers. The St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra was accompanied by conductor Denis Vlasenko, the artistic director and conductor of the Samara Philharmonic. Anna Nechaeva, a soprano soloist at the Bolshoi Theater of Russia, and Vladimir Dmitruk, a tenor soloist at the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theater, as well as Aidar Gainullin, a special guest and world-renowned accordionist, performed.
The classical part of the program was accompanied by the St. Petersburg Symphony, while the Ivan Vasilyev Olympic Orchestra Project jazz ensemble and jazz singer Olga Abdullina performed incendiary rhythms and melodies in the styles of cha-cha-cha, rumba, samba and foxtrot. A special atmosphere was created by Denis Tagintsev and Anna Melnikova's performance, who are world champions in their field. Artists from Indonesia and Madagascar prepared a musical gift for the anniversary of the Baltic Ball. They also organized dance workshops as part of the program.
The Baltic Ball is a charitable event. As a result of the charity lottery with prizes from sponsors, 1 million rubles was collected. This money will be used to provide regular medical treatment for Elizaveta Lemeshchenko, an 11-year-old resident of St. Petersburg and a ward of the Lifeline charity foundation.
KIT MED is the general partner of the event.
Partners: GBUK Petersburg Concert, Lotte Hotel St. Petersburg, La danse dance club by Anna Fadeeva, GREY CHIC, Luding Group company, VIPFLAT luxury real estate agency, TOP Signature agency - representative office of Bawe Island Hotel and Finolhu Hotel in Russia and the CIS, international travel tour operator "Travel Stars", Bakhmetev 1764 Company, and the Lifeline Charitable Foundation. The general internet partner is the online magazine Peterburg2.ru, and the official radio partner is Radio Hermitage.
The organizer of the Baltic Ball in St. Petersburg, Baltic Ball Company, has successfully held a number of events in Russia and abroad. According to Irina Moskvina, Director General, "this project promotes the development of humanitarian and cultural ties, and the bridges of culture are known to be the most durable, connecting hearts. The educational aspect of the event is particularly important, as it introduces debutants to classical music and ballroom dancing, helping them form their values and serving as an example for other young people."
The third Baltic Ball will take place on October 4, 2025, in St. Petersburg.
