Presidential Library of Administrtaive Directorate of President of Russian Federation participates in events with Commissioner for Human Rights in Russian Federation

From October 9-10, 2024, the Presidential Library of the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation will be participating in the IX Meeting of the Eurasian Alliance of Human Rights Defenders Protecting Human Rights in the Context of Digitalization and the VIII International Scientific and Practical Conference Human Rights Protection: Sharing Best Practices among Human Rights Defenders. Ombudspersons from more than 50 countries will be attending these events.

At the venue where the events will be held, there will be a stand from the Presidential Library featuring information materials about the institution's activities, including educational and training projects such as forums, conferences, video lectures, Olympiads, competitions, multimedia lessons, exhibitions, and more.

The cooperation agreement between the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation and the Presidential Library was signed during the All-Russian Coordinating Council of Human Rights Commissioners, held from May 23 to 25, 2024, in St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region.

The agreement provides for the replenishment of library systems with publications and special literature on protecting human and civil rights and freedoms, as well as joint expert-analytical and research work and the implementation of educational projects using digital technologies.

One of the outcomes of this cooperation was the online project The President of the Russian Federation as a Guarantor of Human Rights and Freedoms, which focuses on the institution of presidential power and the role of the head of state in protecting human rights.

This electronic resource draws from digital collections from the Presidential Library, including Institute of Presidency in Russia, Presidential Chronicle, Constitution - Basic Law, and materials provided by the Office of the Ombudsman.

Thanks to the online project, users can access official documents, research, scientific and practical manuals, as well as photographs and videos related to the activities of the head of state.
