
Day of Presidential Library held in Spassky district of Penza region
On October 8, 2024, the specialists of the Regional Center of the Presidential Library, based at the Lermontov Penza Regional Library, hosted a seminar titled Using the Resources of the Presidential Library for User Service and Mass Events. The event was attended by representatives from regional libraries, and it was held at the Spasskaya District Library in conjunction with the Presidential Library's Day.
The seminar focused on discussing various collections and virtual exhibitions available on the Presidential Library portal that may be of interest to school-aged children. It also explored the digitized archival materials available in the electronic reading room and the video lectures provided by the Presidential Library.
Natalia Zakharova, a specialist at the Penza Regional Center of the Presidential Library, reviewed current collections, told about those historical sources, monographs and textbooks that will be of interest to teachers, about the Olympiad Russia in the Electronic World and the competition of pedagogical projects The Future of the Fatherland in the hands of a Teacher.
During the seminar, librarians learned a lot of ideas for working with electronic content. The participants got acquainted with the archival tasks of the Presidential Library Olympiad, learned about the criteria for selecting questions, the technology for developing such intellectual competitions, and the specifics of the formulation of tasks related to finding answers in digitized sources on the institution's portal.
Olga Perepelkina, the head of the Penza Regional Center of the Presidential Library, also shared with colleagues how to use the resources of the electronic library within the framework of classes with students. She conducted master classes on Holding an intellectual tournament for high school students 'Smart and clever' and Organizing an event 'Road to the Stars' for elementary school children.
The day of the Presidential Library continued with open events for schoolchildren. Thus, an educational lesson on cosmonautics was conducted for 4th graders. Children were presented with materials from the Presidential Library's collection: fragments of newsreels Yuri Gagarin: The first human flight into space, materials from collections Konstantin Tsiolkovsky (1857-1935) and Outer Space.
In addition, an intellectual tournament was organized for high school students in honor of the start of the Presidential Library's Olympiad Russia in the Digital World. The tournament included archival tasks from previous years, and during the course of completing these tasks, the students learned how to search for information on the Presidential Library's portal.
