Presidential Library holds an Olympiad in Russian language for foreign schoolchildren and students

The Olympiad Russia in the Electronic World, held by the Presidential Library, invites foreign citizens, including schoolchildren aged 14 and older and students, to participate. The contest will be held from October 14, 2024, to April 3, 2025, in two stages: a qualifying round and a final stage.

The competition includes two stages. The qualifying round will be held remotely from October 14, 2024 to February 3, 2025. The final stage will be held in person on April 1-3, at the Presidential Library headquarters in St. Petersburg, the Reserve Center in Moscow, and a branch in Tyumen. It will also be held at remote electronic reading rooms of the Presidential Library both in Russia and abroad.

Participants will be tested on three levels of Russian language proficiency: elementary (A1), basic (A2), and the first certification level (B1). The knowledge testing system will include tasks in vocabulary, grammar, writing, and listening.

The results of the Olympiad will be determined based on the individual performance of each participant. The winners and runners-up will be awarded with diplomas.

Since 2019, the Presidential Library has hosted the Olympiad in Russian as a foreign language. Thousands of schoolchildren and students from various countries have participated in this event. Last academic year, hundreds of students from Vietnam, Iran, Uzbekistan, Egypt, India, China, Turkmenistan, and other foreign countries competed to become the best in their respective categories.
