Presidential Library hosted video lecture in format of round table on topic "from the "great decade" to the period of "developed socialism"
On October 18, 2024, a roundtable was held as part of the video lecture Knowledge of Russia, which was organized jointly with the St. Petersburg Institute of History of the Russian Academy of Sciences, a longtime partner of the Presidential Library.
The event summarized the results of the international scientific conference From the 'great decade' to the period of 'developed socialism': to the 60th anniversary of the October Plenum of the Central Committee of the CPSU in 1964.
The following topics were discussed:
- domestic politics
- foreign policy
- science
- ulture
- leisure in the Soviet Union
The round table was attended by the following experts:
- Elena Zubkova, Doctor of Historical Sciences and Chief Researcher of the Center for Social History of Russia at the Institute of Russian History, Russian Academy of Sciences
- Vitaly Tikhonov, Doctor of Historical Sciences and freelance researcher at the Institute of Russian History
- Andrey Savin, Candidate of Historical Sciences and Senior Researcher and Head of the Socio-Political Development Sector at the Institute of History, Siberian Branch, Russian Academy of Sciences
- Kirill Boldovsky, a PhD in History and Senior Researcher at the St. Petersburg Institute of History (Russian Academy of Sciences), was also in attendance.
