In 2024 and 2025, Yekaterinburg plans to implement the History with the Presidential Library volunteer educational project in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 314 dated 08.05.2024 "On the Approval of the Fundamentals of State Policy in the Field of Historical Education". The goal of the project is to introduce high school students in Yekaterinburg to the educational potential of the information resources and events of the Presidential Library with the participation of students.

To prepare for the project, an introductory meeting was held on October 22 with teachers and students from the Ural State Pedagogical University, who will be directly involved in it.

The students and teachers who gathered in the hall were welcomed by Acting Rector of USPU, Yuri Biktuganov; Acting Minister of Education and Youth Policy of the Sverdlovsk Region, Svetlana Trenikhina; and Olga Titova, Director of the Sverdlovsk Regional Universal Scientific Library, which serves as the basis for the Regional Center of the Presidential Library.

Oleg Shor, a consultant at the Presidential Library and director of its branch in Tyumen region, presented videos that showcase the library's various activities. In his presentation, he demonstrated examples of high-quality digitalization of historical documents, allowing participants to study and analyze them in detail. He also introduced the library's online portal and thematic collections, encouraging students to utilize the institution's resources for self-education and classroom preparation.

Additionally, the presentation focused on the project itself. Students and teachers were introduced to project partners and the stages of implementation, with plans to conduct approximately 2,000 classes over the course of three months.

Already in October, students from USPU, who will introduce schoolchildren to the information resources of the Presidential Library, will begin their studies at the Regional Center of the Presidential Library in the Sverdlovsk region.

The project is being implemented by Tyumen branch of the Presidential Library, with the support of the Office of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Ural Federal District, the Ministry of Education and Youth Policy of the Sverdlovsk Region, and the Yekaterinburg City Duma.
