13 November 2024

The Regional Center of the Presidential Library based on Pushkin Tambov Regional Universal Scientific Library, once again became the venue for the international campaign Great Ethnographic Dictation. This cultural and educational event was held under the slogan Many Peoples, One Country! For many years, the Regional Center of the Presidential Library has organized this action at the Pushkin Tambov Regional Universal Scientific Library.

The Great Ethnographic Dictation annually introduces participants to the culture of Russia's peoples and allows them to assess their overall level of ethnocultural literacy. The dictation consisted of 30 questions divided into blocks, covering various historical dates and cultural traditions. Many residents of Tambov, mostly schoolchildren and students, participated in the event

The event was opened by Maxim Shestakov, Associate Professor of the Department of General Education Disciplines at the Regional Institute for Advanced Training of Educational Workers. He is also the regional coordinator for the campaign.

There were 45 minutes allocated for writing the dictation, but many participants completed the task earlier. It was also possible to participate in the Great Ethnographic Dictation remotely through the official website of the international event.

The Tambov Region's history is presented on the Presidential Library's portal in the collection Tambov Region: Pages of History. This collection includes research, statistics, and archival documents that cover various aspects of the region's development throughout history.
