The beginning of the Soviet counteroffensive during the Battle of Moscow and the founding of the Order of St. George, as well as the birthday of the St. Andrew's flag and the commemoration of the Holy Prince Alexander Nevsky, are all significant dates that are being celebrated. Lawyer's Day and the Constitution Day of the Russian Federation also fall within this time frame. To coincide with these dates and others, the Presidential Library will be hosting screenings of films, video lectures, and webinars on its TV Channel from December 1st to December 15th.

It also focuses on the history of legislation during the reign of the Romanov dynasty.

Additionally, on this day, a video recording of an interview with the outstanding lawyer Yuri Tolstoy will be broadcasted. He was recorded for the occasion of his 90th birthday. Through this interview, viewers can gain insight into the life and career of one of the pioneers of modern Russian civil law. On December 5, 1941, the Soviet counteroffensive began in the Battle of Moscow. On December 6th, the anniversary of the beginning of Peter I's daughter's reign, it will be possible to watch the video lecture Empress Elizabeth Through the Eyes of Catherine the Great online. Historian Mikhail Safonov proposes comparing two handwritten editions of Notes by Empress Catherine the Second to find out what Catherine thought and said about her mother-in-law at the start of her reign and 20 years later.

Also, on December 6th, the Memorial Day of the Holy Prince Alexander Nevsky is celebrated. The name of this great Russian prince and commander has acquired national significance under Peter the Great, the first emperor of All Russia. The city on the Neva River was consecrated with the transfer of his holy relics from Vladimir.

The Presidential Library's film, Alexander Nevsky - Patron Saint of St. Petersburg, tells us about the key points on the city's map associated with this heavenly patron saint of the Northern Capital. These include the Cathedral of the Feodorovskaya Icon of the Mother of God and the Holy Trinity Alexander Nevsky Lavra.

Materials from the Presidential Library's collection, Alexander Nevsky (1221-1263), are also presented.

255 years ago, Empress Catherine the Great founded the Order of Saint George. To commemorate this event, a webinar about one of the most renowned military awards in Russian history, which has come to symbolize personal bravery, has been organized. The webinar will feature materials related to the history of this highest military honor of the Russian Empire, including archival documents, monographs, and photographs. A video version of the webinar can be viewed on December 7.

December 11, 1699, is considered the birthdate of the St. Andrew's flag, the main emblem of the Russian Navy. Three hundred and twenty-five years ago, Peter the Great personally inscribed the flag with a St. Andrew cross. A white cloth with diagonal blue lines remained the standard until 1917, and is now seen as the main symbol of honour and courage for Russian sailors. The way the tsar-reformer viewed flags and standards can be learned from the video lecture, The Naval Charter of Peter the Great and Military Legislation of Peter's Time.

On December 12th, an important national holiday is celebrated in our country - the Day of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, which was adopted in 1993 through a popular vote. This day, you can watch a video tour of the exhibition The History of Constitutionalism in Russia: Drafts and Constitutions from the 18th and 20th Centuries at the Presidential Library, without leaving your home.
