On December 5, 2024, on the Volunteer Day, the Presidential Library celebrated the grand opening of an exhibition titled We are Volunteers, which was organized by Humanitarian Volunteer Corps Northern Capital, an autonomous non-profit organization, with the support of the Presidential Library.

The exhibition aimed to draw attention to the significance of the volunteer sector in Russia and featured 32 works of art by talented artists aged 5 to 23 years old from St. Petersburg, Surgut, and Nizhnevartovsk. These works reflected the artists' personal experiences as volunteers and emphasized the importance of volunteerism.

The grand opening of the exhibition was attended by the authors of the paintings, as well as deputies from the State Duma of the Russian Federation, representatives from the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg and the Committee on Social Policy, as well as representatives of public organizations and the volunteer movement.

On behalf of the Director General of the Presidential Library, Yaroslava Borozdina made a welcoming speech, noting that it was significant that the exhibition on volunteers was being held on Volunteer Day at the library. He emphasized that the Presidential Library places great importance on the topic of volunteerism.

A separate collection dedicated to the various stages of the development of the volunteer movement in Russia has been created on the library's portal. This extensive collection includes official documents, research papers, archival records, and photographs.
