
Presidential Library hosted round table dedicated to era of Joseph Stalin
On December 16, 2024 the Presidential Library hosted a round table discussion on the personality and legacy of Joseph Stalin (1878-1953). The event took place as part of the Knowledge of Russia video lecture series.
The panelists included Ilya Ratkovsky, a historian and associate professor at St. Petersburg State University; Kirill Boldovsky, head of the History of the Siege of Leningrad laboratory and senior researcher at the St. Petersburg Institute of Russian History; and teachers from the St. Petersburg University of Telecommunications, including Vladlen Izmozik, a professor of history, and Anton Geht, an associate professor and head of the history and regional studies department.
At the lecture Joseph Stalin: Personality and Epoch, participants discussed diplomatic relations, domestic and foreign policy of the state during the 1920s and 1950s, as well as facts from the life of Joseph Stalin.
