New Year's festival for children organized at Presidential Library

On December 24th, 2024 the Presidential Library hosted a festive program titled What is New Year? The guests of the event were children of military personnel involved in a special military operation, children from Kursk, and children of volunteers.

The program featured a magical performance by the magician-illusionist Oleg Korolev, as well as performances by artists from the Blue Bird Theatre and the Menestrelli Instrumental Ensemble. There also were contests, songs, dances, and, of course, presents.

Ded Moroz, Snegurochka and Baba Yaga are be the main characters of the celebration.

The event was organized by the NGO Center for Assistance to Military Personnel 'Obshcheye Delo' (Common Сause) in collaboration with the 'Mirnye Lyudi' (Peacful People) Foundation. 

Presidential Library is a national library of Russia and subordinates to Administrative Directorate of the President of Russian Federation. It is located in St. Petersburg, near St. Isaac's Cathedral, Admiralty, and Bronze Horseman, in a historic building built by Carl Rossi in the second quarter of the 19th century. The library serves as a multifunctional information, science, education, culture, and learning center.

NGO Center for Assistance to Military Personnel 'Obshcheye Delo'

The organization was founded on September 1st, 2022, and its mission is to help military personnel who are participating in a special military operation by providing them with physical exercise and sports to help them recover and reintegrate into society. They offer general physical training, Sambo classes, and swimming lessons at hospitals and medical facilities. The Center has also formed the Zvezda Sledge Hockey Team, which is composed of veterans of the special operation.

In addition to physical rehabilitation efforts, organization send humanitarian aid to the areas of the SMO (special military operation), engage in military-patriotic activities with children, and provide assistance to veterans and their families with housing issues.

The Foundation has been organizing projects and events related to preserving cultural and historical memory and the national cultural code for over 14 years. Since September 8, 2022, the Foundation has been one of the organizers of the public social and cultural program I Believe in My People, which aims to unite all segments of society to preserve historical memory and provide comprehensive support for our relatives and friends who were conscripted into military service during mobilization and are serving in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, as well as their families.
