"World Ambassadors of the Russian language" visited Serbia
The International Volunteer Program World Ambassadors of the Russian language was held in Serbia, organized by the Pushkin State Institute of Russian Language with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia.
For the first time, Russian language courses were offered at the Center for Additional Education at the Russian House in Belgrade. Volunteers Apollinaria Krivonosova and Alexandra Khrenova led classes on the New Year traditions in Russia. Students learned speech patterns used in Russian culture to greet each other during the New Year and Christmas.
The World Ambassadors of the Russian language also visited Bora Stankovic Gymnasium in Vranje. There, they held master classes on Russian music and culture. They continued their mission to promote the Russian language in Mladenovac. Natasha Yeftich teaches Russian at the gymnasium. She is a former student of Alexandra Matrosova, an associate professor at the Pushkin Institute of Russian Language, and a methodologist for the Ambassadors program.
The event concluded with a lecture for students at the Faculty of Philology at the University of Belgrade. Alexandra Matrosova spoke about precedent texts in Russian, how they are used in speech, and the challenges of translating them. She also gave a lecture at the Russian House in Belgrade.
The electronic reading room of the Presidential Library, which was opened in 2015 at the Russian House in Belgrade, allows its guests today to explore all the diverse collections in its electronic library collections. Visitors to the Russian Center for Science and Culture will find the Russian Language collection from the library's electronic holdings particularly interesting.
This collection includes more than 1,100 rare archival documents, such as manuscripts, Russian writing monuments, archival files, scientific papers, dictionaries, reference books, textbooks, and more. Guests of the Russian House can also learn about the history of relations between Russia and Serbia through the electronic collection Russia – Serbia: the History of Relations at the Presidential Library.
