
Specialists from Tambov Regional Center of Presidential Library prepared exhibition dedicated to Orthodox Book Day
On March 14, 2025, specialists from the Regional Center of the Presidential Library, based on the Pushkin Tambov Regional Universal Scientific Library, took part in organizing an event dedicated to Orthodox publications and books of spiritual and moral content. It was held at the TOUNB site as part of the Orthodox Book Day.
Archpriest Viktor Lisyunin, Candidate of Theology, Candidate of Historical Sciences, teacher of the Tambov Theological Seminary, greeted the audience. The program of the event was attended by specialists of the Tambov Regional Center of the Presidential Library Ulyana Averyanova, Karina Gabrielyan and Dmitry Khordykov.
Dmitry Khordykov read Mikhail Lomonosov's poem Morning Meditation on God's Majesty, which evoked a sincere response from the audience. Ulyana Averyanova and Karina Gabrielyan prepared an electronic exhibition dedicated to clergymen who have left an indelible mark on the history of Tambov Region. The exhibition features rare documents from the collection of the Presidential Library, including books, manuscripts, and archival materials that showcase the rich spiritual heritage of the region and the contributions of the clergy to Orthodoxy and culture. These include publications such as The Outline of Christian Morality by Theophan the Recluse (1895), the Akathist to our Venerable and God-Bearing Father Seraphim the Wonderworker of Sarov (1904), and Selected Works by Archbishop Luke (2010).. The exhibition presents the history of Orthodoxy in Tambov and emphasizes the significance of the Presidential Library as a custodian of spiritual heritage, helping to bridge the gap between the past and present.
Collections of Orthodox materials from Russia are also accessible on the Presidential Library's portal. Titles such as Orthodox Russia. Monasteries and icons and History of the Russian Orthodox Church provide information about individual Orthodox monasteries in Russia and revered icons. Additionally, books on the origin and development of the Russian Orthodox Church, primarily written by prominent church figures and church historians, are available.
