Paintings of artist Anatoly Annenkov presented on portal of Presidential Library
The Presidential Library's electronic collection, which includes more than one million depository items, is constantly replenished with materials of various formats - not only historical archival documents, rare editions, old photographs and illustrations, but also works of our contemporaries, including paintings.
Famous St. Petersburg artist Anatoly Annenkov donated his paintings for digitisation to the Presidential Library.
Earlier these paintings and graphic works could be seen at the exhibition ‘Heroes of Our Time’, which was opened at the Presidential Library from 24 February to 11 March 2025 with the support of the St. Petersburg Regional Branch of the Russian Military Historical Society.
The opening of the exhibition ‘Heroes of Our Time’ was marking Defender of the Fatherland Day and was dedicated to recognising the heroic deeds of the participants of the Special Military Operation (SMO). The exhibition featured 12 paintings: portraits of soldiers - participants of the Special Military Operation (SMO) and civilians rescued by them.
Thanks to digitisation and placement on the Presidential Library's portal, the paintings are available from anywhere in the world.
