Participants of BiblioPiter-2025 international conference met at Presidential Library

On April 10, 2025, within the framework of the Sixth International Scientific and Practical Conference Letter and Digit: Libraries on the Way to Digitalisation ("BiblioPeter-2025") the scientific and practical seminar Electronic Library and Information Resources for Science and Education was held in the Presidential Library.

The conference was held in St. Petersburg from 8 to 10 April. It is designed to unite the efforts of libraries, educational, information and scientific institutions of various departments in the development and effective use of new approaches, methods and technologies in the library-information and educational digital environment.

Managers and specialists of the Presidential Library regularly participate in the conference "Letter and Digit" and share their work experience with colleagues. This year at the scientific-practical seminar "Electronic Library and Information Resources for Science and Education" Alexei Voronovich, Director of the Department for Scientific and Expert Work of the Presidential Library, Candidate of Historical Sciences, spoke. He told about the Presidential Library's educational projects in the electronic environment.

Yakov Shrayberg, Scientific Director of the State Public Scientific and Technical Library of Russia (GPSTB), Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Education, made a report on electronic librarianship as a modern stage in the development of library science.

The seminar also discussed such relevant topics as generative artificial intelligence and electronic information resources; open archives as a tool to improve the quality of information support for science and education and many others.

The organisers of the scientific and practical conference "Letter and Digit: Libraries on the Way to Digitalisation" were GPSTB of Russia, the National Library Association "Libraries of the Future", the International Association of Users and Developers of Electronic Libraries and New Information Technologies, the Moscow State Institute of Culture. Co-organisers - St. Petersburg State Institute of Culture, V. V. Mayakovsky Central City Public Library, Presidential Library.
