Presidential Library took part in extended meeting of board of St. Petersburg Committee for Culture
On April 15, 2025, an extended meeting of the board of the St. Petersburg Culture Committee took place.
The event was dedicated to a number of important issues concerning the development of the city's cultural life, support of creative initiatives and preservation of historical heritage.
The meeting was opened by Fyodor Boltin, Chairman of the St. Petersburg Culture Committee. He told about the results of social and economic development of the cultural sector in St. Petersburg in 2024 and about the tasks for 2025.
Yuri Nosov, Director General of the Presidential Library, Chairman of the St. Petersburg regional branch of the Russian Military Historical Society, took part in the event. He made a report on "Modern Library on the example of the Presidential Library".
One of the priorities of a modern library is not only preservation of cultural memory objects and providing access to readers, but also increasing the demand for its information resources. In this connection the cooperation of cultural, scientific and educational institutions acquires a special role. This consolidation of efforts is enshrined in Presidential Decree No. 314 of 8 May 2024 "On Approval of the Fundamentals of the State Policy of the Russian Federation in the Field of Historical Education".
The Presidential Library, which was originally created as a digital library, has been developing various educational and outreach projects throughout its history, which allow it to constantly expand the number of partners with whom it interacts.
