St. Petersburg Economic Forum 2010 finale rang in the Presidential Library
On June 19, 2010 in the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library took place the working meeting between the RF President D. Medvedev and the President of France N. Sarkozy. The two presidents have discussed the issues of investment collaboration in the field of energy effectiveness and conservation, aircraft building and car industry, nuclear energy, medicine, nanotechnology and biotechnology. During the meeting were discussed the prospective of partnership in humanitarian and scientific spheres as well as in the field of culture and education.
On the threshold of summits of the ‘Big eight’ and ‘Big twenty’ in Canada and taking into account that in 2011 it will be France presiding these groups, the presidents discussed a wide range of questions regarding coordination of international efforts for reformation of international financial structure.
The participants also exchanged their opinions on the issues of European security in terms of the Russian initiative to conclude the Treaty on European security, the new strategic conception of NATO, the situation in the Middle East and due to Iranian nuclear program.
At the solemn ceremony taking place in the Presidential Library Conference Hall as a result of negotiations and in presence of the two presidents was signed a range of documents on cooperation in the field of oil and gas industry, aerospace and transport sectors.
At the end of negotiations took place the joint press-conference of the Russian and French Presidents being the logical final point of St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. Addressing the public and replying to the questions of journalists, D. Medvedev and N. Sarkozy resumed the joint activities of Russian and France and presented their own concepts of the world economy future.
