One more step on the way of creation of the Presidential Library regional network

December 10, 2010 a delegation from the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library arrived to Volgograd Oblast. During the visit the members of the delegation had working meetings with the heads of Volgograd regional local history museum and the State History and Memorial culture preserve ‘Stalingrad battle’. Accompanied by the President of the Culture Committee of Volgograd Oblast V. P. Gepfner and the director of the M. Gorky Volgograd regional academic library N. V. Shashko, the guests visited the regional library under reconstruction. Regional budget allocated 60 million rubles for this purpose. In accordance with the administrative decisions and the developed design, the regional branch will be housed in the building of the regional library.

Volgograd Oblast governor A. Brovko and Director General of the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library A. Vershinin have signed an Accord on cooperation for creation of the Presidential Library regional center in Volgograd.

According to the Volgograd Oblast governor, the project of creation of a Presidential Library branch in the region is a priority and its opening is scheduled for 2011.At the ceremony of signing the Accord also made a speech the president of the Committee on archives management under the Regional Administration L. Budchenko. The President of the Culture Committee of Volgograd Oblast V. P. Gepfner addressed the meeting on creation of the “Pobeda” national center.

In accordance with the Instruction of RF President of June 18, 2007 the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library branches should be established in all constituent territories of the Russian Federation.
