
Presidential Library hosts second meeting of Academic Council
April 14, 2011 the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library held the second meeting of the Academic Council.
Within the framework of the meeting participants discussed the possibility of opening virtual branches of the Presidential Library at federal universities. They were shown a presentation of an interactive Olympiad and a project focused on 150th anniversary of serfdom abolition in Russia. The Academic Council decided on joint organization of competitions of scientific and methodological publications on history, theory and practice of Russian statehood at the Presidential Library.
Following the decision of the first meeting which kicked off November 30, 2010 the membership of the Academic Council was increased. It included heads of the National Research University “Higher School of Economics”, the Institute of State and Law of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law under the Government of Russia, Kutafin Moscow State Law Academy, the Ural State Law Academy, as well as deans of Law faculties of Moscow State University and St. Petersburg State University.
Some members of the Academic Council, including those from remote regions, took part in the meeting via video-conferencing facilities.
The Academic Council of the Presidential Library was set up November 30, 2010 pursuing an objective of facilitating library’s development and its cooperation with scientific, cultural and educational institutions.
