Students, teachers and school staff now have access to over 370,000 electronic materials and documents reflecting the history of the Russian state, the theory and practice of law, as well as the Russian language as the official language of the Russian Federation. These information resources can be used in the scientific research and to study such subjects as history, political science, theory of state and law, and others.
Director General Alexander Vershinin noted the importance and historical significance of the reunification of Crimea and Russia, and expressed hope for further development of cooperation between the Presidential Library and cultural and educational institutions of the Crimea and Sevastopol: "Navy - is the longest borders, patterns of behavior in the toughest conditions. Together with the naval schools, naval libraries, museums, archives, using today's technology we have to preserve, restore and disclose the pages of history about the unknown and famous ascetics and heroic events or just interesting people and facts."
It is worth noting that this is the second remote electronic reading room of the Presidential Library in Sevastopol. In the late 2014, a remote electronic reading room of the Presidential Library opened at the M. Lazarev Maritime Library, which has repeatedly joined the activities of the Presidential Library in a remote mode. In August 2014, the first National Electronic Library of the country and Nakhimov Higher Naval School of Sevastopol signed an agreement. In accordance with the document, after reconstruction and technological re-equipment the school will also have an opportunity to work in 2015 with the full scope of resources of the Presidential Library.
The Presidential Library website makes available the collection "Republic of Crimea: pages of history." It includes researches, essays, archival documents, photographs and other materials that present the administrative, socio-economic, socio-political and cultural development of the peninsula from ancient times to the early 20th century.
To date, more than 130 regional centers and electronic reading rooms with access to the resources of the Presidential Library are open in the Russian Federation. In 2011, a branch of the library opened in the Tyumen region.
