Views of Artek are presented at the Presidential Library website

The Presidential Library has presented at its website a selection of postcards with pre-war views of "Artek" international camp, dating back 1929 to 1938.

Now anyone can make their own impression of the All-Union Pioneer sanatorium. The postcards depict general view of the camp, drowning in the trees, a new sanatorium building, where children are playing on the porch. Photographs of swimming in the Black Sea, games with waves, collection of grapes give an idea of ​​bright and varied life in the camp, a trip to which always was a reward for special achievements. Also the website of the first electronic National Library features the views of Suuk-Su of early XX century. The postcards depict the majestic cypress trees in the park, deserted promenade, the casino and the palace, overlooking the park. These and other materials enriched the Presidential Library collection from private collections.   

In addition, the library collection widely represents pictorial resource in the Crimea. These are photographs and postcards that convey the extraordinary natural beauty of the region. It is presented a photograph album of the beginning of XX century collection of postcards of Crimea of late XIX - mid XX century. The postcards feature the famous promenade of Yalta, Sevastopol and Kerch piers, enchanting beaches of Evpatoria and amazing sea view from Koktebel. The earliest photographs date back presumably to 1894. To prepare the collection there were used materials from the Children's Museum of postcards.  

The Presidential Library and the international camp "Artek" actively develop cooperation. In June 2016 the Crimea provided a meeting of representatives of both organizations, where among the prospects was considered the possibility of opening on the basis of the future modernized library "Artek" of a remote electronic reading room with access to the entire collection of the Presidential Library. Today on the territory of the Republic of Crimea is running a reading room only in the Franko Crimean Republican Universal Scientific Library. Among the proposals of the Presidential Library – an awarded a ticket to the main children's country camp of the winners of All-Russian Olympiad which is held annually at the Presidential Library. In turn, the experts of "Artek" expressed interest in gaining experience in scanning and further work with electronic documents. Currently, the Artek museum stores numerous archival materials: photo, video materials, drawings.
