The book from the International Space Station returned to the President's Library

The reprint of the released in 1929 book entitled “Cosmic space missile trains” by Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, printed from an electronic copy of the edition from the Presidential Library stock, returned to the Earth from the International Space Station.

The edition, issued by the Presidential Library, was sent to the ISS in late 2016 according the agreement with the Russian Federation of Cosmonautics. In his work, Constantine Tsiolkovsky discusses the cosmic space exploration on the principle of space travel between the planets.

The first copy will remain forever in the Star City’s “space library” stock, and the second one arrived on the Earth on the 10th of April along with safely returned from the expedition crew of the pilot-cosmonauts Sergei Ryzhikov and Andrei Borisenko.

In the very near future, the book with a ISS seal and autographs of the cosmonauts will be handed to the Presidential Library, get digitized and then published on the library website.

This was announced today, April 12, during the traditional “Cosmonautics Day” conference in the Presidential Library. As it was emphasized, the library stock, which includes more than half a million units, has unique documents and books focused on scientific researches of Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, about the Soviet space program and a work of Sergei Korolev, as well as the author's works of Yuri Gagarin. It was stated that the Presidential Library intends to increase the number of materials on the space exploration development in Russia - including the construction of the Vostochny space-launching area and its workflow, the Tsiolkovsky city, to open centers of access in Plesetsk, Korolev, Baikonur and other cities, where the crews are getting trained, and the engineers and space industry specialists reside.
