The Presidential Library was identified as an object of business tourism

Today, on March 1, 2017, representatives of the hospitality industry of St. Petersburg visited the Presidential Library in order to discuss the possibilities of joint cultural, outreach and awareness-raising events.

A sightseeing tour around a historic building of the Holy Synod, built in the second quarter of the XIX century by the famous architect Carlo Rossi, was arranged for guests of the Presidential Library. Today it is accommodated the premises of the Presidential Library, the largest information and cultural center of Russia.

Tourists learn more about the activities of the library. Combining historical traditions and the cutting-edge technologies, today the Presidential Library forms a nationwide electronic resource, where in the digital format collected books and periodicals coexist with the archive materials, newsreels, scientific and educational films on the history of Russian statehood. To date, the library stock is numbering over 500 thousand digital copies of rare editions and archival documents. Tourists visited an electronic reading room, a conference room, a multimedia and television complex, all current facilities designed specifically for public and state activities.

In the Constitution hall the guests got familiar with the exposition dedicated to the history of constitutional ideas in Russia since 1905 and, in particular, the adoption of the Basic Law - the Constitution of the Russian Federation. Owing to up-to-date multimedia equipment everyone can flip through virtual pages of the inaugural copy of the Constitution, presented to the library by the President of Russia on its opening day on May 27, 2009. Also tourists visited the Church of the Holy Fathers of the Seven Ecumenical Councils, which is located in the building of the Presidential Library.

Speaking on the activities of the Presidential Library, it’s worth noting that one of the main priorities of its work is to preserve the historical and cultural heritage. Apart from the library stock this concerns the same unique library building.

The event ended with a working meeting, within a framework of which a presentation of the Presidential Library as an object of business attraction for the residents and guests of St. Petersburg took place along with a discussion of further joint cultural and educational activities.
