Children's multimedia studios showed their works in the Presidential Library
The last May meeting of the Cinema Club of the Presidential Library was traditionally dedicated to creative work of the animation, multimedia, documentary and feature filmmaking children's studios. The audience saw several of the best works of the M-Art and the Giraffe Studios, dedicated to the Year of Ecology in Russia.
The Giraffe Film Studios for the first time presented in the Presidential Library its work “Nasty verses” and a feature film entitled “Took a walk”. In this educational and awareness raising public studio children produce the “true-life” movies - that is, problematic, intelligent, urgent and only at first glance naive.
The main Giraffe Studio’s goal is to teach kids and teenagers to use the opportunities of filmmaking for articulating of and solving social problems. Teachers of the studio are trying to develop an active life position among children and youth, especially in the field of environmental awareness building. The studio is an active participant and prizewinner of the “Green Look” international film festival of ecological films. At the XVI “Green Look” festival the studio “Giraffe” received a special prize and a diploma “For contribution to the development of children's and youth ecological cinema.”
The M-Art Studio has begun with the presentation of an issue of interactive “Red Book” series, each edition of which (and there are already 6 of them) is a story about some kind of endangered species of flora or fauna. And then the audience saw their favorite work – “We are and the Cosmic Space,” made in the format of presentation, but exceeded it with all kinds of media tricks. The studio students also screened the “Green Square” International Children's Competition award winning “Four Elements” movie.
The M-Art Studio is well known in the Presidential Library Cinema Club for such the movies as “Ivan Turgenev and Pauline Viardot,” the inventive Limericks, and the “He’ll be back” devotion to a beloved cartoon about Carlson. In the Year of Cinema at “A Near and a Far-flung Space” international on-screen competition, organized by the Presidential Library, the St. Petersburg State Institute of Cinematography and Television and the Russian Federation of Cosmonautics, the short movie released by the M-Art Studio entitled “We are and the Cosmic Space” was awarded the 3rd place in the “Documentary” nomination.
The best M-Art Studio movies are added to the Presidential Library stock.
This year's studio graduates presented their portfolios with the best for the five years curriculum works. Browsing through these rich and attention-grabbing portfolio pages makes sense that there won’t be a problem with career choice for these M-Art Studio’s graduates.
