An extraordinary beauty of Siberia will be exposed in the Presidential Library

The first stage of the All-Russian Public Photography Competition named “Siberia: you are so beautiful today!” and dedicated to the Year of Ecology in Russia is over. The contest was going along a course of work of the outreach and awareness-raising center of the Tyumen Oblast. The Presidential Library came out as co-founder of photography competition.

According to the adviser of the governor of the Tyumen Oblast on special projects in the field of mass media, Alexander Pavlovich Novopashin, photographers were able to recognize and to express a beauty of Siberia. “The perception of the world around us goes through a positive perception, and such kind of message - nature should be just like in these wonderful pictures” – produces a wide educational effect,” - he notes.

At the moment, 122 authors from 55 localities of the most extensive geographical region of the country took part in the “Siberia: you are so beautiful today!” photo competition. All the works sent to the competition will add to the fund of the first national electronic library, which today numbers more than 500 thousand units. Apart from photographs, it contains digital copies of archival documents, rare editions, audio and video recordings, abstracts of dissertations, and other sources related to the centuries-old history of Russian statehood, theory and practice of law, and the Russian language as the state language of the Russian Federation. So, now anyone can enjoy a beauty of one of the utmost mysterious regions of Russia.

Besides professional photographers any photography lovers and all Siberian residents or people associated with the region, who are ready to contribute old photographs from family albums and archives, are invited to participate in the “Siberia: you are so beautiful today!” photography competition.

Works can be submitted over e-mail at siberia-beauty@mail.ru. Submissions to the competition must include captions, author’s full name, location name, the name of the subject of the Russian Federation, district, place name or geographical object; a valid contact information, a breath history associated with the submitted photo (text with a maximum of 200 characters).

All works mast be submitted until November 1, 2017.

The results of the second stage of the competition will be summed up until November 8 - the Day of Siberia.
