The Presidential Library is developing informational and educational projects with the Republic of Crimea

22 June 2017

Today, June 22, 2017, a joint teleconference of the Presidential Library and the TV and radio company "Crimea" was held on the theme: "The Great Patriotic War: new journalistic investigations". The event was held in the video-conferencing mode and marked a new stage in the development of partnership relations between the Presidential Library and the Republic of Crimea.

The Director General of the Presidential Library Alexander Pavlovich Vershinin noted the importance of the meeting, which is inseparably linked with the development of the interregional and interdepartmental network of the library. He reminded that last year the Regional Center of the Presidential Library was opened in Crimea on the basis of the I. Y. Franco Crimean Republican Universal Scientific Library. Much attention is paid to working with the media, thanks to which it is possible to widely represent joint projects. "The information and educational centers of the Presidential Library are being created in the regions with the assistance of the mass media for a wide presentation of scientific, educational and cultural resources and, of course, to strengthen the common information and cultural space. To date, such centers have been established in Tyumen and Karachay-Cherkessia", - Alexander Vershinin noted. He also thanked participants of the Presidential Library projects for creative initiatives and wished everyone success in mastering the electronic knowledge space.

According to the Director General of the TRC "Crimea" Yekaterina Aleksandrovna Kozyr, the space bridge has united several cities from different regions of Russia. The event was joined by the first republican television channel of Karachay-Cherkessia "Arkhyz 24", the D. I. Mebdeleev Tyumen Regional Scientific Library and the Reserve Center of the Presidential Library in Moscow. Yekaterina Kozyr expressed hope that this practice will be continued.

In addition, Yekaterina Kozyr paid special attention to the fact that today the "Crimea" TV and radio company, like all the mass media of the Russian Federation, takes on the mission to preserve history, to find those facts that may have been unfairly forgotten or insufficiently illuminated. "This is done so that the younger generation will see, will know and will remember that they are the heirs of the Great Victory", - she clarified.

The important problem of preserving the historical heritage was raised by Deputy Minister of Internal Policy, Information and Communication of the Crimea Vadim Vladimirovich Pervykh. According to him, this work is complex, comprehensive, requiring a clear position regarding history. In the video-conferencing mode, Vadim Pervikh presented books on military-historical topics, published with the support of the Publishing Council of the Ministry of Internal Policy, Information and Communication of the Republic of Crimea. All the materials will enrich the Presidential Library fund.

Also within the framework of the space bridge a presentation of documentary video materials of the TV and radio company "Crimea" about the key military operations that took place on the territory of the peninsula during the Great Patriotic War took place. The films will also be included in the Presidential Library fund, which has more than 500,000 items. One of them is dedicated to the Kerch-Feodosia landing operation (December 1941) - the largest amphibious landing operation during the Great Patriotic War. Thanks to the heroic actions of the ground forces and the fleet, the enemy lost the opportunity to use the Kerch Peninsula as a springboard for penetrating the Caucasus. The operation also diverted part of the enemy forces from under Sevastopol, facilitating his defenders the reflection of the second enemy assault. In the film "The Troopers. Kerch-Feodosia operation of 1941-1942" there were used unique frames of historical chronicles, stories of surviving participants of Kerch-Feodosia operation, opinions of military experts, reconstruction of events. In addition, on the portal of the Presidential Library will be soon presented a video film "Nameless Height". The project was timed to coincide with the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory. The program tells about the time of the start of the second defense of Sevastopol, the retreat of Soviet soldiers to Cape Khersones and the abandonment of the city in June-July 1942. The documentary program "Aerocobra. A fighter from the past" will be also of interest. The tape tells about the discovery of search engines - the remains of the aircraft "Aerocobra" of the Great Patriotic War. Specialists managed to fully restore the history of the crash of the aircraft, the personality of the pilot became known - Pavel Krasnenkov.

In turn, the management of the "Arkhyz 24" TV channel also expressed a desire to transfer to the Presidential Library fund a series of TV programs devoted to military history topics. Among them - a documentary film "160 days", telling about the events connected with the occupation of Karachay-Cherkessia by German troops in 1942-1943, "Two Carnations" - a cycle of journalistic programs about monuments and memorials in the Karachay-Cherkess Republic dedicated to the Great Patriotic War, the TV project "Faces of Our Victory" and much more.

It should be noted that the partnership between the Presidential Library and the Republic of Crimea has been developing for several years. April 26, 2016, the Director General of the Presidential Library Alexander Pavlovich Vershinin and the Head of the Republic of Crimea, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea Sergei Valeryevich Aksyonov signed a cooperation agreement. To date, six centers of access to the Presidential Library resources have been opened and are functioning successfully in the region. Students of educational institutions of the Republic of Crimea regularly take part in educational projects.
