The Day of Russian Cinema in Tashkent

August 25, 2017 a meeting of the Historical Club, dedicated to the Day of Russian Cinema, was held in the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Tashkent.

The guests and participants of the event were members of the Historical Club, representatives of Russian universities: the Mari State University, the Volga State Technological University, the Tomsk State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering, and students who entered these higher educational institutions and will be trained in Russia, journalists.

Head of the Historical Club Vasily Kostetsky, opening the meeting, noted that cinema plays a very large role in the spiritual and moral formation of the human person and, that is especially important, in the upbringing of the younger generation. He also emphasized that between Russian and Uzbek cinema there are long-standing and strong creative connections, and the audience of these two countries know and love actors born in Russia and Uzbekistan.

The Presidential Library features electronic collection "Russia-Uzbekistan: from the history of relationships". The studies, essays, archival documents, postcards and photographs presented in the collection introduce the geography, history of the administrative structure, cultural and economic development of certain cities and regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan, mainly during their period of residence in the Russian Empire.
