The deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Sergei Boyarsky subscribed to the Presidential Library

Today the deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Sergei Boyarsky subscribed to the Presidential Library. General Director of the Presidential Library Alexander Vershinin officially granted Sergey Boyarsky a library card.

Sergei Boyarsky went sightseeing the Presidential Library, getting familiar with a work of the first national electronic public library, as well as historical interiors and current facilities designed specifically for publically noteworthy and state level events. In the electronic reading room he has got familiar with the Golden Book of the State Duma 1916, in which there are the handwritten signatures of the last Russian Emperor Nicholas II and Grand Duke Mikhail Alexandrovich. This book is available on the Presidential Library website.

The only copy of the inaugural edition of the Constitution of Russian Federation offered the Presidential Library by the Russian President on the day of its opening on May 27, 2009, which is remaining in the Constitution Hall was of special interest of Sergei Boyarsky. In this exposition hall the State Duma of the Russian Federation deputy watched a documentary newsreel in which Emperor Nicholas II greeted the State Duma in the St. George’s Hall of the Winter Palace.

After that Sergei Boyarsky observed the exhibits of thematic expositions, which are currently organized in the Presidential Library. Among them there are “The Northwest of Russia: two areas — one history. To the 90th anniversary of the Leningrad Oblast and the 80th anniversary of the Vologda Oblast,” “The natural and cultural heritage of Russia” and “Protecting nature means protecting the native land: on the Year of Ecology in Russia.”

He also came out with a welcoming speech before school students of the School 494, for whose a multimedia lesson dedicated to the Year of Ecology was held on this day. Sergei Boyarsky is a member of the State Duma Committee on Ecology and Environmental Protection, so he is familiar with this issue. He told children about the existing problems with the ecology of St. Petersburg, about the optional ways of solving these and expressed a hope that these issues will remain in focus of public attention. According to Sergei Boyarsky, environmental issues affect all areas of our life, so we have to foster an awareness of saving the environment from an early age.

Earlier Sergei Boyarsky repeatedly visited the Presidential Library as a guest, participated in various events. From today he is also an official subscriber of the library.
