The Presidential Library suggests generalizing cultural projects in the Far East
Today, during the “Culture and art: what will be done” section a discussion of the projects of federal institutions focused on cultural development of the region was held within the framework of the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.
The point was made on the fact that the Ministry of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Russian Far East is currently the most active curator in this area. As a result, there are some new productions on the stage of the Primorsky Krai Academic Regional Drama Theater named after A. M. Gorky, such major projects as the creation of the Prymorsky Stage of Mariinsky Theater are going on, and the branches of the Tretyakov Gallery and the State Hermitage are planned to open in Vladivostok. Director of the State Russian Museum Vladimir Gusev articulated his willingness to open the center based on his institution.
At the same time, as the heads of the Primorsky Krai and the Khabarovsk Krai and the Amur Region stated, the initiative of opening new branches of iconic museums and theaters, of course, is of great benefit to the region; however, a downside of this, with seldom exceptions, in a containment of development and decent breakthroughs in local institutions.
In this connection, the experience of the Presidential Library, which in Primorsky Krai has been integrated into the sphere of military and civic education, culture (the access centers were opened in the Far Eastern Federal University, the Vladivostok Presidential Cadet School, the Pacific Naval School named after S. O. Makarov, the Primorsky Regional Public Library named after A. M. Gorky; the opening of a remote electronic reading room in the Vladivostok State University of Economics and Service is coming soon). Such a conceptual approach allows achieving serious success in working with resources, participation of organizations in methodological, scientific and educational, the outreach and awareness raising interaction with the federal institution — the Presidential Library. It was pointed that the results of this work require generalization.
Deputy Minister of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East Sergey Kachaev highlighted that a special program of work of federal institutions for the development of culture in the Far East using an experience of the Presidential Library can be formed.
Thematic contacts are a must: for instance, at the meeting the director of “Territory” movie Alexander Melnik learned that the Presidential Library participated in the creation of the film “Dmitry Donskoy. To the glory of Russian Navy” about the heroism of Russian sailors under Tsushima and “The Russian Fleet off the coast of America,” and both these themes are consonant with his creative plans. By the way, both films will be shown in the Primorsky Krai Public Library named after A. M. Gorky on its Cinema Club.
Looking back, since 2009 the Presidential Library has built an entire network of the remote access to its stock in all 85 regions of the country. More than 380 centers of remote access to the resources of the Presidential Library work for the benefit of the territories where they at, participating in joint projects with the federal institution.
