European offices of Rossotrudnichestvo organize mobile photo exhibitions for the 60th anniversary of the launch of the first artificial Earth satellite
October 4, 2017 the world celebrates the 60th anniversary of the beginning of the space age - the launch of the first artificial Earth satellite, which opened the way for mankind to space.
In the capitals of more than ten countries in Europe, multimedia expositions will be organized from October to January, which visitors will not only see a copy of the first satellite, but will also learn about the main achievements of Russian cosmonautics. The exhibition was organized by “Roskosmos” State Corporation.
Exhibitions called "SPUTNIK 60" will be held, for example, in Vienna (Austria), Sofia (Bulgaria), Berlin (Germany), Belgrade (Serbia), London (Great Britain).
Russian cosmonauts will take part in the opening of the exhibitions, which will tell visitors about the history of Russian cosmonautics, implemented projects and development prospects. Residents of European capitals for the first time will be able to see the full-size mock-up of the first artificial Earth satellite installed on a four-meter round catwalk, with a view of our planet from space and sunrise. The exhibition will tell about Russian space records, the history of space exploration, the current space program of Russia, the participation of our country in the largest and most important international projects, including plans for the exploration of the Moon and Mars.
The portal of the Presidential Library provides an electronic compilation of documents "Open Space", which includes fragments of newsreels, periodicals, books reflecting various milestones in the development of Russian cosmonautics.
