The Presidential Library presented the first color photographs of the Russian Empire in Berlin

October 11, 2017 the Presidential Library presented an exhibition of the first color photographs of the Russian Empire "Russia's Spaces in Color Photography by Sergei Prokudin-Gorsky" in the Russian House of Science and Culture in Berlin. The exhibition was opened in the framework of the 69th Frankfurt Book Fair and will run until October 15, 2017.

40 works from more than 2 thousand of digitized photographs of the founder of color photography of Sergei Mikhailovich Prokudin-Gorsky are presented in the capital of Germany for the first time. The partner of the exhibition was the advertising and production company “Cosco”.

Within the framework of the opening of the exhibition in the format of the TV bridge “Berlin-Saint Petersburg” was held a round table "Photo vision on Russia: From the Origins to Our Days", at which topical issues were discussed that touched upon the preservation of the historical and modern photographic heritage of both Russia and Germany.

On October 12, 2017, at 15:30 pm Moscow time in Frankfurt am Main, the Presidential Library will present to participants and guests of the Frankfurt Book Fair the project "Russia's Spaces in Color Photography by Sergei Prokudin-Gorsky".
