The National Unity Day in the capital of the USA

The National Unity Day was celebrated in the US capital. Traditionally, this important date in the history of Russia is celebrated on the site of the Russian Cultural Center in Washington and is perceived by the Russian-speaking Diaspora as a holiday of the unity of the "Russkiy Mir".

The event, which was attended by over 100 people, included prominent representatives of the business community, the academic community and Russian clubs, political scientists, cultural and art figures, as well as heads of organizations working in the field of Russian-American cooperation.

Director of the Russian Cultural Center Oleg Zhiganov in his welcoming speech spoke about the significance of the holiday and warmly congratulated the guests.

Talented Russian musicians showed the highest level of performing skills, a deep understanding of musical material and an amazing contact with the audience. Guests of the evening enthusiastically welcomed artists who adequately presented Russian musical art.

The solemn atmosphere of the evening was combined with traditional Russian hospitality.

The Presidential Library portal features electronic collection "Overcoming the Time of Troubles in Rus’". It included various documents and materials reflecting the state of the Moscow state on the eve and during the Troubles, the struggle of various political forces for the Moscow throne and the popular movement against the conquerors. Particular attention is paid to political, social and church figures of the Time of Troubles.
