Presentation of the digital collection "Novonikolaevsk in the fire of the revolution"

November 10, 2017 at 10:00 Moscow time in the Small Hall of the Government of the Novosibirsk region will be held a presentation of the digital collection "Novonikolaevsk in the fire of the revolution".

The project is being implemented by the Novosibirsk State Regional Scientific Library and the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization "Historical Society of the Siberian Federal District" with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Government of the Novosibirsk region, the Pushkin Library and the Presidential Library.

The purpose of the project is the creation of the digital collection "Novonikolaevsk in the fire of the revolution", which includes all kinds of documents that tell about the events in Novonikolaevsk in the period from 1917 to 1922. These are books, newspapers and magazines, leaflets, photographs, official and personal documents, some of them have never been published.

Among the publications, included in the collection, there are memories of participants and eyewitnesses of revolutionary events; art works, the action of which takes place 100 years ago in the territory of the Novosibirsk region; studies of Siberian historians.

In addition, the collection includes books, magazines published in Novonikolaevsk during the years of the revolution and the civil war. They reflect not only the political trends of their time, but also the daily urban life.

The collection includes materials of libraries, archives, museums of the city of Novosibirsk, the Novosibirsk region, as well as other regions. This is a unique resource, providing access to documents from the funds of different institutions.

Materials of the collection will be of interest to researchers, students, teachers of historical disciplines, as well as to all those interested in the history of their native land.

The partners of the project took part in the replenishment of the collection: the State Archives of the Novosibirsk region, the Novosibirsk State Regional Museum, the National Library of Russia, the I. I. Molchanov-Siberian Irkutsk Regional Universal Scientific Library, the Tomsk Regional Universal Pushkin Scientific Library, the Omsk State Pushkin Regional Scientific Library, the V. Y. Shishkov Altai Regional Universal Scientific Library, the Museum of Oktyabrsky District in Novosibirsk, the Berdsk History and Art Museum, the Central Library of the city of Berdsk, the Central Library of the Orda region. Consulting assistance in the formation of the collection was provided by the staff of the Institute of History of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

All documents are posted at the website of the NNSUB electronic library in the mode of free access: http://elibrary.ngonb.ru/catalog/3744/. Some of the collection materials were transferred to the Presidential Library by the Novosibirsk State Regional Scientific Library.
