Come here to share your ideas on a further development of our city, taking into account the opinions of those classic writers, whose books are aplenty on any bookcase.”

In the course of the official ceremony of opening the transformed after remodeling library halls a head of the administration of the Krasnogvardeisky District Yevgeny Razumishkin pointed out the high social significance of the Presidential Library projects with the objective to meet the informational demands of regional residents.

We have created now a new library space for the active school and university students, where they can apart from an autonomous reading, also listen to publically recognized lecturers, to get online connecting to the full of riches electronic stock of the Presidential Library, and browse through the wonderful rare books.”

A principally new library environment using the cutting-edge IT technologies is set on 35 Industrialny Avenue. For example, there is interactive map of the Krasnogvardeisky District — a large-scale resource for studying the history of the oldest lands of St. Petersburg, Okhta; it is sited on the interactive panel in the library space, and is also available on the Internet in any kind of browsers for the desktop or mobile devises.

The resource represents the most interesting sightseeing destination points of the Krasnogvardeisky district, a collection of facts and biographies of people who have left their mark on history. The Rzhevskaya library is another project of the library system of the Krasnogvardeisky district, which, along with the children’s “CITY” library, extensively includes information resources into the service system. In addition to the lively interior, the up-to-date format of serving readers and a rich cultural program (from music and theater workshops to software engineering master classes), the library is ready to demonstrate a new approach to studying history. Therefore, it is so important to develop in the future fruitful joint projects of the two libraries — Rzhevskaya and Presidential. Regional documents, Olympiads and competitions, sightseeing tours, as well as many other types of projects certainly fit into the general plans of both institutions. And of course, joint methodical work on the organization and an open access to electronic resources will be in demand in St. Petersburg, since the actual task of the Presidential Library is to promote the development of the local information and library network.

On the opening day, the Presidential Library staff employees describe in detail the potentials of the national electronic informational cluster: the library stock, its joint activities with the regions, and its recently modernized Internet resource.
