History of Russia in audiovisual materials
Autumn 2017 is rich in anniversaries of events that have become a turning point in the destiny of our state: the 205th anniversary of the Battle of Borodino, the 405th anniversary of the liberation of Moscow from Polish invaders, the centenary of the October Revolution and other dates.
Since the opening in the M. Gorky Ryazan Regional Universal Scientific Library, the Center for Remote Access to the Presidential Library's resources is actively working to popularize the unique foundation of one of Russia's national libraries. Library staff conduct cognitive seminars, introduce users to electronic collections, use copies of documents in their events, create virtual exhibitions for significant dates.
To the Day of National Unity, established in memory of the liberation of Moscow from the Polish invaders, a plasma screen in the foyer of the library housed: a video tour "The Time of Troubles and Its Images in Russian Science and Culture", dedicated to the Presidential Library exhibition of the same name; the calendar "On This Day", telling about the origins of the holiday; a video that reveals the content of the collection "Overcoming the Troubles in Russia" and a virtual exhibition of documents created by the staff of the Ryazan MCC based on the above collection. The events of the Time of Troubles are reflected in literature, visual arts, archival chronicles. The documents on the topic are available in the collection "Overcoming the Troubles in Russia".
The centenary of the October Revolution is celebrated in 2017. The Presidential Library prepared a thematic webinar in two parts "October 1917: A Vision Through the Century".
Both parts of the webinar were placed on the plasma panel for viewing by the library's visitors. All the readers were able to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of revolutionary time, see documents shedding light on agitational party activity among factory workers, preparing and implementing a plan for an uprising.
The cooperation between the Presidential Library and the Ryazan region has been developing since 2010.
