Participants of children’s drawing competition met the Presidential Library

Today, on December 2, 2017, participants of the “Trams and trolley buses in the city on the Riva Neva” IV City Children’s Painting Competition visited the Presidential Library. The event was held over the course of work on deepening of cooperation between the Presidential Library and the “Gorelectrotrans” St. Petersburg State Unitary Enterprise.

Young sightseers learned first-hand about the undertakings of the Presidential Library — the largest multimedia multifunctional cluster. The children visited the electronic reading room, which provides access to 600 thousand digital copies of unique materials reflecting the history of Russia. In addition, the children visited the conference hall and the multimedia hall-transformer, where outreach, awareness raising, cultural and educational events of the Presidential Library of different levels are being held. Among them are the international forums and congresses, film clubs, public video lecturing, presentations, concerts and much more.

The tour ended up in the Constitution Hall of the Presidential Library. The guests saw the only duplicate of the inaugural copy of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, on which the presidents of the country take their oath. Owing to the current technical equipment of the Presidential Library, anyone could “brows through” an electronic pages of this document. The exposition of this hall is filled with historical documents dedicated to the history of Russian statehood and the fragments of newsreels related to the presidency in Russia, state symbols of the country are also shown here.

In addition, the children visited the multimedia exposition of their own works. This year’s competition of children’s drawings was dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the St. Petersburg tram and to the theme of “Favorite routes of riding the tram Petersburg.” The Presidential Library issued a special prize — for the most original name for the oldest tramway line № 3.

The interaction of the Presidential Library and the “Gorelectrotrans” St. Petersburg State Unitary Enterprise is going forward. An agreement on cooperation between the institutions was signed on July 4, 2017. During this time the institutions implemented a number of interesting shared projects. Among them there is a press tour to the Museum of City Electric Transport, the “Knowledge of Russia” public video lecturing with focus on “A tram — the transport of the future,” sightseeing tours for employees and much more.
