Historical tour "Birth of the Russian Constitution"

December 11, 2017 the Regional Center of the Presidential Library, acting on the basis of the I. Y. Franco Crimean Republican Universal Scientific Library, for students of secondary schools in Simferopol was held a historical tour "The Birth of the Russian Constitution", timed to the Constitution Day of the Russian Federation, celebrated on December 12.

During the event the schoolchildren made a video tour on the materials of the exhibition "From the history of constitutionalism in Russia: drafts and constitutions of the XVIII-XX centuries", posted on the portal of the Presidential Library. The exposition includes collection materials from the Archive of the President of the Russian Federation, the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation, the Library of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, as well as private collections.

The virtual visit to the Electronic Museum of the Constitution located in the Presidential Library building in St. Petersburg and a special exhibit - the only copy of the inaugural copy of the Constitution of the Russian Federation donated by President Dmitry Medvedev on the opening day of the Presidential Library on May 27, 2009 was of special interest to students.

In conclusion, the schoolchildren took part in the quiz "Do You Know the Constitution?" and showed worthy knowledge on the history of Russia.

The Presidential Library portal features electronic collection "The Republic of Crimea: pages of history". The selection is dedicated to the unique historical and cultural reserve - the Republic of Crimea. Ii includes studies, essays, archival documents, photographs and other materials that introduce the administrative, socio-economic, socio-political and cultural development of the peninsula from ancient times to the beginning of the XX century.
