The Presidential Library invites to the presentation screenings of the movies of its own production

9 January 2018

Two movies released by the Presidential Library entitled ““The icebreaker “Krasin.” 100 years in the history of Russia” and “To arrange everything such a way that all will be new” will be shown on January 2018 on the Presidential Library website under the Live Broadcast section. The television studio of the Presidential Library brand released these movies.

The first movie entitled “”The icebreaker “Krasin.” 100 years in the history of Russia” tells about an engagement of the icebreaker in the development of the Arctic, the key episodes of its life — from the creation in 1916 up to the current time. For quite a long time “Krasin” remained the most powerful Arctic icebreaker in the world. It paved the way for the vessels through the ice, not the once rescued Arctic expeditions and served any needs of science. Today it is a unique museum, a symbol of the history of the development of the Arctic and the marine heritage of Russia. The movie includes the comments of the industry experts, newsreel chronicles, unique exhibits and documents from “The Icebreaker “Krasin”” museum. This video is based on the materials of cognominal exhibition of the Presidential Library. The movie length is 13:16.

The title of the other movie “To arrange everything such a way that all will be new” are the words of Alexander Blok, who in 1917 served as the literary editor of the Extraordinary Commission on Investigation of the Actions of Former Ministers. That video is created based on the materials of the exhibition of the same name timed to the 100th anniversary of the Revolution of 1917. The movie reveals the following questions: how did the participants and the witnesses of the revolution evaluate it, and what did they call the coup in 1917? What really happened? The movie represents the true evidences of those events: newsreel chronicles, memoirs, diaries and documents. The materials are courtesy of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Oblast archives and libraries, as well as the Presidential Library. The length of the movie is 14:33.
