Opening of the book exhibition "The Battle for Stalingrad. How it began" in Penza

In the regional center of the Presidential Library, acting on the basis of the Lermontov Penza Regional Scientific Library, a book exhibition to the 75th anniversary of the defeat of the German fascist troops in the Battle of Stalingrad was opened.

The exhibition presents the collection “Children and War: The Battle of Stalingrad and Life in the Military Stalingrad in the Recollections of the Citizens of the City, which contains the stories of those whose childhood was during the Battle of Stalingrad, as well as copies of documents from the Central Archives of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, in particular a handwritten report of the Commander of the Don Front K. K. Rokossovsky at the Stavka of the Supreme High Command about the capture of the commander of the 6th German Army, Field Marshal Paulus.

All interested persons can get familiar with books in the electronic reading room and work with other digital resources that are included in the Presidential Library's fund: official documents, photos, newsreels and wartime newspapers.

On the Presidential Library portal the Penza Region is represented by the collection "Penza Region: Pages of History". The collection includes archival documents, essays, studies and statistical materials covering the demographic, geographic, socioeconomic, socio-political and other aspects of the history of the Penza region at the end of the XVIII century - the first third of the XX century.
