19 February 2018

The Central Library of Panchevo (Serbia) with the support of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Belgrade, organized the Week of Russian Cinema in the organization of the Serbian-Russian Friendship Society "Slavic Union".

The audience was presented films that have gained a great popularity of the public not only in Russia, but also in the world. Films "Moscow does not believe in tears", "The death of the Empire: Byzantine lesson", "Island", "Elena", "12" aroused a great interest of the Serbian viewer. The reading room of the library was not able to receive all comers - every film screening was attended by more than a hundred viewers.

Wonderful films by Vladimir Menshov, Tikhon Shevkunov, Pavel Lungin, Andrei Zvyagintsev and Nikita Mikhalkov once again confirmed the deservedly high place of Russian cinema in the world. In the opinion of the organizers, the culture of Russia must certainly remain a part of the cultural life of the city in the future.

The Presidential Library portal features electronic collection "To the Year of Russian Cinema". The selection, timed to coincide with the Year of Cinema in Russia, included official documents, studies, various graphic materials (posters, billboards, postcards, etc.) that reveal various aspects of the development of Russian cinema since the beginning of the XX century, as well as individual films and actors from Russian and Soviet cinema. The collection includes about six hundred documents.

In addition, the Presidential Library portal offers documentaries of various subjects.
