The fashion that the young generation is creating was presented at the Presidential Library

On March 13, 2018, the final gala-show of the city open contest-festival "Week of Young Fashion Designers" took place at the Presidential Library. The contest was held from February 26 to March 2, 2018 among students of state general education institutions and state institutions of additional education. It was attended by 150 people, representing 22 creative teams.

Elena Kovalchuk, representative of the city educational and methodical association of leaders and teachers of the additional education of children of state institutions in the direction "fashion design", told a lot about interesting children's fashion shows. She noted the fashion show has been held in the Northern Capital for almost 40 years. But only four years ago the contest received a new status: now it involves those who are able not only to walk along the catwalk, but also to show designer abilities in designing clothes from the sketch to the finished model.

Created not by famous couturiers, but by the most ordinary schoolchildren, the models pleased the eye with an unusual solution of cut and interesting details of habitual seemingly dresses, blouses, jackets. A beautiful collection "The Colorful world" was presented by pupils of 5-6 grades of the creative workshop "Flora" of the Central District of St. Petersburg. Applause was caused by the collection "Kalinka" and others. Bright accessories, among which you can note a knapsack with horns of a young deer, was also of particular interest.

For some participants of the colorful action in the Presidential Library, participating in the development of a new model and demonstrating it on the podium, is a real opportunity to select future profession. Participant of the contest Ekaterina Zemerova told, for example, that she was studying at a medical college and, of course, she will graduate, but later she would like to try herself in the design of clothes.

To help gifted children and adolescents to believe in themselves, to achieve heights in their favorite creative work and proudly say: "I create fashion!" is the main idea of ​​the contest-festival "Week of Young Fashion Designers". It is aimed at developing and supporting the interest of schoolchildren in the art of clothing design; promote the modeling of the costume, and help in career counseling.

The Presidential Library and the St. Petersburg GBPOU “Russian College of Traditional Culture” are the partners of the event, the founders and organizers of which are the St. Petersburg Committee for Education, the St. Petersburg City Palace of Young Creativity, the City Educational and Methodical Association of Leaders and Educators of Additional Education for Children of State institutions in the direction "fashion design" and GGBU Gymnasium № 528 in the Nevsky district.
