Presentation of works of Russian literature in Hanoi
A comprehensive event dedicated to World Poetry Day was held at the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Hanoi.
The main guests of the evening from the Vietnamese side were Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga, Deputy Head of the State Administration for Records Management and Archives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Vietnam, Major-General Chin Quoc Khan, Permanent Deputy Chairman of the Vietnamese-Russian Friendship Society, Deputy Director of the National Library Mr. Nguyen Xuan Zung, and the director of the Hanoi Library, Mr. Chan Van Ha. The Russian side was represented by the Adviser-Envoy of the Russian Embassy in Vietnam, Vadim Bublikov, and the Director of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Hanoi Natalia Shafinskaya.
Opening the event, Vadim Bublikov noted the contribution of Vietnamese translators to the strengthening of humanitarian relations between Russia and Vietnam, and also thanked the authors for their selfless work.
In her turn, Natalia Shafinskaya spoke about the growing interest in Russian culture and literature in Vietnam. A key role in this was played by a translation and publishing project under the auspices of the President of the Russian Federation, which is being implemented in Vietnam since 2012 and thanks to which the Vietnamese reader has the opportunity to get familiar with the masterpieces of Russian classical literature and also the works of contemporary Russian writers.
During the program, the guests of the event were presented with translations of the novel "Ugryum-Reka" by V. Y. Shishkov, collections of poems by A. A. Akhmatova, M. I. Tsvetaeva, S. A. Yesenin, "Tales" by A. S. Pushkin.
A special event for the Vietnamese Russian-speaking community was the possibility of free access to the electronic fund of the Presidential Library, which delegation visited Vietnam on a working visit on March 13-16.
The final part of the event was the story of translator Nguyen Thuy An about participation in the ceremony of awarding the prize "Connecting thread of words", established by the Writers Union of Russia, becoming a laureate of which this year. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Natalia Shafinskaya, the director of the RCSC, congratulated the interpreter on the deserved award and presented her gifts.
The thematic collection "Russia-Vietnam: from the history of relationship" is presented in the public domain on the portal of the Presidential Library. It contains publications dedicated to the history of the Vietnamese people and its struggle for independence, the work of Russian and Vietnamese researchers revealing the internal and external economic development of the Socialist Republic Vietnam, as well as documents highlighting certain aspects of Russian-Vietnamese cooperation.
