Schoolchildren from different regions of Russia visited the Presidential library during spring vacations
Located in the historical center of St. Petersburg, in the building of the Holy Synod, built in the second quarter of the XIX century by the design of the outstanding architect Carlo Rossi, the Presidential Library has no analogues in Russia in terms of its technical equipment and resource capabilities.
During the spring vacations, schoolchildren from different regions of Russia had a tour through the Presidential Library. They visited an electronic reading room, a conference hall, a multimedia complex, exhibition halls.
In the Constitution hall the children got familiar with the exposition dedicated to the history of constitutional ideas in Russia, including the adoption of the country's basic law - the Constitution of the Russian Federation. Thanks to modern multimedia equipment, everyone could flip through the virtual pages of the inauguration copy of the Constitution presented by the President of Russia on the opening day of the library - May 27, 2009.
Young sightseers learned details about the library. Combining historical traditions and the latest technologies, the Presidential Library forms a nationwide electronic resource, where books and periodicals, archival materials, newsreels, scientific and educational films on the history of Russian statehood are collected in digital form. To date, the library collections have more than 600 thousand digital copies of rare editions and archival documents.
Within the framework of the festival "To Museum Today, to Science - Tomorrow!" the Presidential Library organized thematic tours for senior pupils about future professions, whose representatives work in the institution. They are bibliographers, scientists, technologists, filmmakers, programmers, video engineers, journalists, guides, managers, designers, exhibition specialists.
Being the largest informational and cultural center of Russia, the Presidential Library has been actively developing as a tourist site. More than 10,000 sightseers visited the Presidential Library in 2017.
