"Beauty in Diversity" - a unique exhibition of Russian regions is held in Rome
Presentation of a unique exhibition of art souvenirs and crafts "Beauty in Diversity" was held at the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Rome under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture of Russia. The event was opened by the Director of the Department of the Ministry of Culture of Russia Olga Yarilova.
The exhibition features exclusive items, handwork from various materials. These are souvenirs made of metal and amber, art carvings on wood and bones, products made of clay and coal, as well as national costumes, hats, art embroidery. Masters from the North Caucasus, the Far East and Siberia, as well as the central part of Russia - all from 11 regions of our country, presented their works.
Visitors got familiar with the most vivid examples of tourist souvenirs and the attributes of ethnographic tourism in the regions of Russia, as well as with the best products of Christian Orthodox art.
"The exhibition presents Italian guests and our compatriots living in Italy, Russian culture in the context of today and our history", - said Olga Yarilova. - It is the Italian audience, as nowhere else in the world, so sensitive to art and to the art crafts. Therefore, it was decided to show those art crafts in Italy, the creativity that is transmitted from generation to generation in different regions of Russia".
An electronic collection "Territory of Russia", which includes scientific, popular science and educational publications, archival documents, maps, photo and newsreels that characterize the domestic territory in various aspects and in different historical periods is presented on the Presidential Library portal. The section "Regions of Russia" contains materials of local lore, reflecting the history and peculiarities of the development of individual Russian regions in different periods.
