The paper is thin Chinese, xylograph, painted with colors and gouache by hand. The size of the sheet is 35x59 cm. The original is kept in the funds of the Archive of the Russian Geographical Society, St. Petersburg (rank 116, inventory 1, collection of drawings No. 91). He was brought in 1897 by the Russian botanist and geographer Vladimir Leontyevich Komarov.

Yanlucin People's New Year's popular prints (nianhua) with the image of Zhong Kui (God of the doors). Zhong Kui is a spellcaster, a fighter with evil spirits. Paired images of Zhong Kui were usually hung on the right and left doors. Zhong Kui is depicted in a red robe, with a jade belt holding a sword in his hand to destroy demons. At the top left is a red bat - homonym to the word "Happiness" ("Fu"). Above the head is a seal with the name Zhong Kui - a pledge that there is no evil in this room. Red color usually symbolizes happiness and joy. The meaning of the depicted plot: "Zhong Kui will drive out demons from your home, in which happiness will come" .
