Vera Ermolaeva is a representative of the Russian avant-garde. She graduated from the Archaeological Institute in Petrograd (1917). One of the founders of the futuristic circle "Bloodless Murder" (1915-1916) and the artistic association "Approvers of New Art" (1920s), member of art associations "Freedom to Art" and "Art and Revolution" (1917). Worked together with the artists of the Russian avant-garde M. Shagal, K. Malevich, V. Lebedev. In 1918, organized in Petrograd artel of artists "Today", which produced illustrated children's books. She created theatrical sketches for the futuristic opera "Victory over the Sun" by M. Matyushin and A. Kruchenykh (staged in 1920, Vitebsk). Rector of the State Art and Practical Institute in Vitebsk (1921-1922), head of the color laboratory at the State Institute of Artistic Culture in Petrograd (1923-1926). The participant of exhibitions since 1920.
